Is there a particular technology stack I need to work in?
No! This is the best part – the enterprises NEED YOU to help figure out the right apps to build and the right technologies to use.
Do I really have to spend an entire month on this?
No! We’re giving you a few weeks (until September 19) because you’ll need to engage with the sponsors – this is the best part about a hackathon that gives you your first customer! We’re looking for a “weekend’s worth of work” to show the potential of your app to sponsors who will select finalists. Once a finalist, you’ll get a chance to build a full demo and win the contest on October 1.
Do I need to attend the Emerging Tech conference to participate?
No! Just register here on the site, and you’ll get all the details you need to participate.
Oops! It’s mid-April and I forgot to register. Is it too late?
No! You can register anytime, as long as you get us a submission by September 19!
Must I actually quit my job and build a product or company if I win?
No – if you win, you are NOT required to continue to build the product after the initial prototype you present. Willingness to iterate with the enterprises is a a consideration but it is not a requirement for selection. You are not required to do anything after you win (no indentured servitude 🙂 ) Our goal has simply been to encourage innovation and connections between enterprises and talented developers in the Philadelphia area. If the conditions are right for everyone, the likelihood of commercialization will be higher – but we are not requiring a longer term commitment from anyone.
